Monthly Gems is back, at with a look back at the Mays of yesterday — 5 to 40 years back. The release strategy has definitely changed with Empire Strikes Back and The Shining opening within a couple of days of each other back in 1980. In 2000, the Best Picture Winner for that year saw Gladiator opens in May! Can you imagine? There are some action movies, horror and a little in-between for your family flick night.
